Karen C. Dawson, Principal

For more than a decade, Karen Dawson has been a premier journalist and public relations professional.  Prior to founding Dawson Communications Group in 2007, Karen worked as a Senior Account Executive at a boutique PR agency in Seattle, Washington.  This followed public relations work in the corporate and non-profit fields.

Dawson served as Associate PR Manager at Sierra Entertainment, with a focus on developing the Hoyle and Hallmark brands, as well as collaborating with her PR team on a series of other products. As a Communications Specialist, Dawson contributed PR expertise to a growing non-profit and managed all internal and external communications for the organization. She also provided ongoing contract public relations strategy and services to Recording Artist Garr Lange.

Prior to entering public relations, Dawson was a writer and production assistant at Northwest Cable News (NWCN) in Seattle, following work in the sports department at KING-5 TV.

Dawson is on the board of the Dr. John K. McCormick Foundation, a non-profit committed to funding pancreatic cancer research, awareness and patient support.  She is also a volunteer at Seattle-based Treehouse, an organization committed to serving children living in foster care.  Dawson holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism.
